Mariah Carey - Hero

Hero was the second single from Mariah's third studio album
and is regarded as one of her most inspirational ballads. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her eighth chart topper.

Interesting Facts: After co-writing the hit, Mariah didn't really want the song and intended to give it to Gloria Estefan.

Bush - Swallowed

Released: November 19th, 1996

Album: Razorblade Suitcase

Swallowed was a huge success in America, maintaining the #1 spot on the the US Billboard Modern Rock Track's for 7 weeks. It remains the bands longest charting number one single.

Interesting Facts: I still regularly refer to this band as Bush X.

Kris Kross - Jump

Released: February 6th, 1992

Album: Totally Krossed Out

Jump was a massive song by 12 and 13 year old Chris Kelly and Chris Smith. It was the third best selling song in the US in 1992, the fastest selling single in 15 years, and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for 8 weeks. It also ranked at #75 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs Of The 90's.

Interesting Facts: Jump prevented Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" from reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, in which it peaked at #2.
