Los del Rio, Snap! & the Prodigy

Los del Rio - Macarena

Released: 1993
Album: Fiesta Macarena

The Macarena became an absolutely gigantic song that  spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It was ranked as the No. 7 song on Billboard‘s All Time Top 100 and was ranked as the #1 One-Hit Wonder of all time by VH1.
Despite it topping the “No Play” list at mine, it is still regularly heard at almost every wedding you’ll ever go to.

Interesting Facts: The song is about a woman who cheats on her boyfriend while he’s being drafted into the army.
WHAT?!?

Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer

Released: March 30th, 1992
Album: The Madman’s Return

Rhythm Is A Dancer is the second single off of Snap!’s second album. The song topped the charts in multiple countries and reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was #1 on the UK Singles Chart for six weeks and it took Whitney Houston’s smash hit “I Will Always Love You” to drop the title of #1.

Interesting Facts: After numerous breakups and roster changes, Snap! tried making one last comeback in 2008 with a re-recording of “Rhythm Is A Dancer ’08”. Unfortunately, the ship had sailed on their classic, though it achieved minor success in the UK.

The Prodigy - Firestarter

Released: March 18th, 1996
Album: The Fat Of The Land

Firestarter was the first single off of the Prodigy’s third album. It reached #1 in the UK, Finland, Hungary, Norway and the Czech Republic.

Interesting Facts: Wal-mart and K-Mart pulled Fat Of The Land off of the shelves in 1998 deeming it too offensive.
